This feature is included within SquareWorks' Automate AP Automation Suite.
If your company has internal documentation to help with your business processes in NetSuite (e.g. how to enter a PO), it can be exposed via a split screen on various pages within NetSuite. This content can be scoped to specific roles, employees and forms within NetSuite.
If Advanced Help is configured on a specific page (e.g. POs), employees will see an additional button while creating, editing and viewing records. Pressing the Advanced Help button will display help content in a split screen view:
Since Advanced Help can be customized by an Administrator, you may see the following differences from the example above:
Within your own account, Advanced Help will be configured to show documentation that’s maintained internally at your company and specific to your account and business processes. The screenshot above is showing an example of showing this user guide within NetSuite.
The button label (Advanced Help) may be named differently in your account, as it can be customized by an Administrator.
If there are multiple documents that can be viewed, you may see multiple Advanced Help buttons on your forms.
Help documentation may be scoped to specific roles, employees and forms. As a result, not all employees may see the Advanced Help button.
If a record type has attachments enabled through Advanced Document Management, you can drag and drop files directly onto the record. This works on create, view and edit screens. The file must be dropped into the highlighted section below.
Note: If you’re not currently viewing the Files tab, you will be automatically switched to this tab when you drag a file onto the screen. Once the file has uploaded, you will be automatically switched back to the original tab.
You can also use the Add Files button to browse your computer for files instead of dragging and dropping files.
If using custom fields to reference advanced attachment files, you can also use the + button next to the dropdown to add new files. Any files uploaded to the record (via the + button or via the files tab) will be selectable in the custom field’s dropdown – no need to refresh the page.
Once a file has been uploaded, you will see the file listed in a record’s file tab. There are three options for viewing files.
You will find the same options for files referenced by custom fields.
When editing or creating a record, you will be given the option to delete a file on the file tab:
Popup: This button will open the file in a popup window. If the file can be shown directly in your browser (e.g. PDF file) it will open automatically. Otherwise, the file will download.
Download: This button will download the file.
Preview: This link will show the file directly on the screen (if a PDF or image). Otherwise, the file will be downloaded.
